These Tailgating Taco Bars Will Change Your Life

Here at Gutterpy, we take Mexican tailgating food very seriously. After all, what is life without tacos? And what are tacos without variation? And what is variation without variety?

Look, what we’re saying is these taco bars will change your life, that’s all. Check ’em:

Walking tacos

If you’ve ever been to a festival, fair, or other such block party, you’ve probably paid for a halfhearted, overpriced walking taco. Now, you can have all the walking tacos you want* at your very own walking taco bar. More instruction here.

*Subject to how many snack-size packages of Doritos and/or Fritos you can fit in your car.

Classic tacos

As Oreos have proven with their many, many different flavors/colors/textures/cream amounts, you can never go wrong with the original.Instructions here.

Like the blog suggests, you can literally feed a crowd with a taco bar, which is all the more reason to invite 100 extra people to your tailgate.

Mini tacos

Get a hold of some wanton wrappers (or make your own here) and a lightly greased mini muffin pan. Place each wanton wrapper in its own muffin cup and shape it to the tin. Bake 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

Voila! You have mini taco shells! Put out every possible taco topping you can think of, fill the shells, and have a contest: who can come up with the best taco combination?

We’re going to sound crazy, but hear us out.

Take your regular soft taco shells. Paint them in butter, dip them in brown sugar and cinnamon, and grill them until slightly browned (but not crispy – let’s not get crazy here) (unless that’s what you’re into) (in which case, get crazy).

Now take lettuce or beef or tomato or whatever you have in your hand and throw it on the ground. Don’t use it. Instead, stuff that sucker with fruit, ice cream, and every topping you can think of. Think “self-serve frozen yogurt store.” Nutella, whipped cream, brownies, cookie dough, Oreos – the world is your taco shell.

Send us your taco bars and taco creations! We want to see what you come up with.

And remember, there are no rules in taco bars!
